buyers-interview

Like any good team, it’s important to develop a solid strategy from the get-go. The first step in the process is to meet in person (or by phone, depending on your preference) before seeing any properties. We will discuss your needs, wants, budget, and timeline. We we also spend some time getting to know your family. What leisure activities are important to you? What is your commute to work like? In this meeting, we will identify everything that is important to you and establish a plan to find your perfect home.

Once we’ve painted a picture of your ideal home, we develop a list of viable options. For out-of- towners that aren’t yet familiar with the Charleston area, this may also include a driving tour to expose you to the many different neighborhoods around town. We then discuss, narrow down our selections, and select the best sampling of homes to tour.

Showings involve far more than opening the door and letting you take a look around. We analyze each aspect of the property and determine how it would function in your particular situation. This is a big decision—and the last thing we want you to feel is rushed during this very important step of the process. There is never any pressure to buy. In fact, we have worked with some of our clients for over ten years before they decide to purchase! From here, we narrow down the list and decide which home to pursue.

property-idUpon determining the best property for you and your family, the fun begins (for us, at least). Negotiation is our business. It’s what we like to do, and we’re experts. We advise you on how to get the best value and terms. We’re also honest from the get-go. Call us old fashioned, but we tend to believe that if a home is priced well and there’s a lot of interest, you should come in fast with a strong offer so you don’t lose out on the property. Our team is proficient with contracts and helps you navigate through special contract stipulations, repairs, and appraisals.

close-the-deal

There is a lot that goes into purchasing a home beyond just agreeing to terms. We coordinate every step of the closing process beginning with a comprehensive Buyer’s Checklist. This detailed document clearly outlines everything that we need from you to get the job done swiftly and accurately. During this time our team is working behind the scenes with the banks, attorneys, insurance companies, appraisers, inspectors and other agents to ensure that all the details are taken care of. We also track down surveys, elevation certificates, insurance information and other items necessary for closing.

after-the-sale

Our commitment to you doesn’t end with a closing. It’s our hope that we will continue to be a resource for you as you settle into your new home and beyond. Call us. Text us. Stop in and say hello—and we’ll do the same. Let us help you acclimate to your new community. Whether we’re providing a recommendation for an interior designer, introducing you to others in the neighborhood, or connecting you with a potential job prospect, it’s our belief that our relationship is just beginning with the purchase of your new home.
